Health Infrastructure completed the construction of the development of Gosford Hospital involving the refurbishment of existing wards and the construction of new wards.
The Gosford Hospital Redevelopment consists of over 45,000m2 of new and refurbished space providing specialist services such as emergency, cancer treatment, AMU, birthing, surgical and procedure units, medical imaging as well as theatres and IPU’s. Large scale regional hospital redevelopments where MBM very recently successfully completed the planning phase.
This project demonstrates MBM’s ability to provide estimates and options based on the limited information by drawing upon our experience and costs extrapolated from similar projects. This will be advantageous, as an update, during the early stages of the project which involves construction on existing, functioning hospital site. Experience working with Health Infrastructure includes consolidation of various hospital services and regional project experience.
MBM were commissioned for the Planning Phase to the end of Schematic Design Development, for the design and construction of a new hospital building and significant refurbishment at Gosford. MBM provided the full Cost Management service throughout the planning phase initially costing a variety of options in feasibility stage before providing full detailed costs throughout the SD phase. MBM worked closely with HI and the PM to ensure the budget was maintained and areas where potential additional funds could be utilised.
MBM has offered a holistic approach to cost planning and reporting focusing on the overall project cost from inception. MBM focused not just on the facility’s construction, but also master planning, staff decanting, council and health facility fees as well as staging, relocations and commissioning to ensure no nasty surprises arise moving into the design development phase of the project.
